Today, is the first day of trading for the Green Giants cannabis investing strategy. It’s a focused portfolio of premier cannabis stocks. As the tagline says, “invest in tomorrow’s leading cannabis companies, today.“

The goal of the strategy is to outperform the global cannabis markets. We want to capture the wave of upside, and do a bit better. To do so, we are focusing on a few themes. Examples include:

  1. U.S. plant-touching cannabis companies only—no ancillary stuff.
  2. Overweight limited-license states—supply constraints make licenses very valuable.
  3. Emphasis on medical markets moving recreational—this is the sweet spot for profitability.

We’ll expand on these themes in future blog posts.

Successful cannabis investing does not require illiquid private equity, speculative venture capital, or overly-complicated ETFs. Instead, one can simply invest in a liquid portfolio of dominant, publicly listed, cannabis companies.

Building the Green Giants portfolio was easy. I logged into my Schwab account and bought seven names that all trade on the OTC exchange. Fidelity is also supposed to be good for trading cannabis stocks. Avoid Robinhood, as they do not support trading OTC stocks and every name in our portfolio trades on the OTC exchange. Most other online brokers will work well.

You can subscribe to Green Giants for free. Subscribers receive our monthly letter and email updates with new articles. Stayed tuned for more updates, we are just getting started.
